03/09 Inspiration from Lily and Cuckoo

The Lily Connection

March 2009

Theme for the month:

Green

Grass and leaves and Kermit and Spring and healthy and good and fresh and whoops~ there goes rubber ducky bobbing along in a tub of blueberry juice!  Wait, I thought we were seeing things that are green.  Let’s see, yellow ducky + blue liquid = green.  I think I just had a finger-paint flashback.  It happens any time I see yellow next to blue~ the line blurs, paint flies, my eyes cross, and then before you know it, I am seeing green!

Okay, now let’s state the obvious.  It’s March and what else is green in March, but four leaf clovers and dancing leprechauns.  This is all tons of fun, but I have an idea.  What if we could make up our very own holidays?  (Yes, these are the questions that fill up my head)  What if I choose to have my “green” holiday be “Sweet Pea Day?”

Yes, I did just say “sweet pea.”  That is what my mother said when she answered the phone after I said “hello.”  She said, “Hi, sweet pea.”  So, I am declaring for myself a “Sweet Pea Day.” And I have it on my calendar, and on this day, it is designated that I should smile a lot, call a friend, take care of business, and then go have an adventure.  And then, on this adventure, find a treasure.  And by treasure, I mean the very thing that reminds me of the beautiful people and the beautiful passions in my life.

Whatever the holiday, we have so much to celebrate!  Just like the name of this month implies, I feel like doing a MARCH down Main Street, singing a Sweet Pea tune.  I don’t know what the lyrics will be but I have a pretty good idea what I will be using for confetti at the grand finale.  And then, we can scoop them up for a hearty menu.  Nothing tastes better than a gathering of friends around a Pot ‘o Green Sweet Pea Stew.

***Happy Sweet Green March***

If you read this far down last month, you know this is the secret space to share just a little bit more.  This month, the little bit more is pondering the progression of the last few years.  This March marks the beginning of our 3rd year sharing the Lily Connection!  The very first newsletter, dated March 2007, was titled “Feng Shui for Stress.”  The weight of the world and the darkness of Winter pressed on me so much, by the time March rolled around, I felt like I had been backed into a corner!  The trend continued in March 2008, as my title indicated quite simply, with “Boxes.”  Rather than reeling, I find myself romping this March with “Sweet Pea Day!”  I think the steady progression of positive thinking is steering our course.  We are not alone~ every thought, every voice, every touch, every step carries us forward.  Let them be the building blocks to strength and friendship and hope and laughter and peace.

See you next month!
